Dubai International Marine Club organized last Saturday (15th of April) the round two of the 60ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race wherein crowned as the winner of the race is boat no. 09 “Al Tef”. The organization is successful to gather around hundreds of dhow participants in the heat 2 of the said race since it was a preparation for the upcoming biggest race in the marine sports season, the 27th Al Gaffal Long Distance Race on 13th of May 2017 from Sir Bu’ Nair Island to Dubai.
Great wind & a good strategy had help a lot to the success of boat no. 09 “Al Tef” skippered by Khalifa Abed Thani Al Marri as they took the top spot against the rival boat no. 57. “Luzam”, which is led by Khalifa Muhair Al Mazrou’ei. Going strong on the third position is boat no. 212 “Al Farouq” led by Ahmed Rashid Juma Rashid Al Suwaidi up from the top spot. As the race continues we saw the rivalry for the top 5 position of boat no. 04 “Al Qaffay “as he took the fourth and boat no. “103” Ghazi is down to fifth position from the last heat.
DIMC congratulates and award the top 5 winners in the podium right after the race led by the presence of the DIMC Vice Chairman Mr. Ali Nasser Belhabala, with the UAE Marine Sports Federation(UAEMSF) Chairman & Board Member of DIMC Mr. Huraiz Almur Bin Huraiz, also with them is Mr. Mohammad Abdulla Harib the CEO & Board Member of DIMC and with the Race Director – Mr. Hezaim Al Gemzi.
