60ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race has been Postponed

15 December 2023

The Dubai International Marine Club has decided to postpone the date of the Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race (60ft), the second round of the 2023-2024 Championship, which was initially scheduled to commence on the shores of Dubai tomorrow (Sunday). The event will be rescheduled for a later date to be determined.

Mohammed Al Marri, the Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Dubai International Marine Club, stated that the decision was made to ensure the security and safety of the participants due to adverse weather conditions. He emphasized that the club will soon announce the proposed new date for organizing the upcoming race, which is one of three races in this category.

At the end of last October, the Dubai International Marine Club successfully organized the first-round with participation of 80 boats. The victory was claimed by the captain of the winning boat no. 25 Zilzal.
