The discussion sessions during the strategic retreat were attended by Saif Juma Al Suwaidi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Club, along with members Rashid Thani Al Aail, Essa Mohamed Elhag Nasser, Khalid Ali Al Balooshi, Khalid Khamis bin Dasmal, and Ali Saeed Bin Thalith. Additionally, Mohammed Harib, the Chief Executive Officer at DIMC, and various department directors and managers were present.

Before the retreat commenced, Ahmed Saeed bin Meshar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Club, emphasized the importance of unified efforts within the club's internal community. He underscored the goal of achieving leadership in the sports sector, a path guided by our wise leadership, which consistently calls upon its people and sectors to strive for excellence.

Bin Meshar stated that sessions like these, which bring together decision-makers and experts in both administration and sports, serve as a compass for shaping strategies where positive results emerge. These results, in turn, contribute to advancing initiatives and fostering innovation by thoroughly assessing the current situation and creating opportunities to uphold sustainable principles while overcoming challenges. The ultimate objective remains to establish the club as the premier marine sports destination in the region, the Middle East, and the world.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Club also expressed his gratitude to Khalid Ali Al Balooshi, a member of the Club's Board of Directors, for his consistent and dedicated efforts in pursuing the club's strategic goals. Al Balooshi's substantial contributions across various club departments have been invaluable since the formation of the current session's Board of Directors.

Mohammed Harib, the Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai International Marine Club, commended the unwavering support and follow-up from the club’s Board of Directors. He acknowledged the efforts of the Chairman, his deputy, and the Board members for their encouragement of the work team in the executive management and the directors of various departments, all aimed at achieving the club’s directional goals and the strategic plan for 2021-2027. These plans were set in motion by the Board of Directors in 2019, followed by extensive studies in 2020 and final accreditation in 2021.

He emphasized that the results following these concerted efforts and continuous follow-up were promising, evident through the successful attainment of the targeted indicators for 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. Harib pointed out some notable achievements in establishing a safe environment, local job opportunities, successful partnerships, modern financial system implementations, streamlined departmental organization, and enhanced resource management.

The Executive Director highlighted completed projects from the recent period, which encompassed effective governance of traditional races, integration of modern technology and applications, upskilling of individuals and teams, strict adherence to health and safety standards, introduction of a new corporate identity at the beginning of the year, and the implementation of new regulations, policies, and human resources systems.

Mohammed Harib outlined the challenges faced by the club, including its location, financial resources and budgets, obtaining permits from relevant authorities, organizing diverse races, expanding the number of events in the seasonal calendar, hosting major international events, managing jobs and investments.

During the strategic retreat, participants engaged in discussions after the opening session, focusing on proposed initiatives across various indicators to enhance the sports system within the club. They identified initiatives worthy of further study, with an emphasis on increasing public engagement and service to ensure community satisfaction regarding activities and events that align with the club’s overall goals and strategic plans.
