02 December 2023

Starting at two o'clock in the afternoon today—Saturday—the waters of Dubai Marina Canal will serve as the stage for a marine sports demonstration, featuring the launching of the Rowing Boat parade. This collaborative effort is organized by the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation and the Dubai International Marine Club, aligning with the nation's celebrations of the 52nd Union Day and its role as the host for a conference—the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28-UAE).

The parade of modern rowing boats in various types will start at the headquarters of Dubai International Marine Club located at Dubai Harbor. Its primary objective is to raise awareness of environmental preservation, climate issues, and the pursuit of sustainability. This endeavor will witness the participation of more than 30 boats , all set to sail a distance of more than 2,000 meters within the waters of Dubai Marina Canal, passing by the most prominent landmarks in this stunning area.

Preparations for the success of the parade have been diligently completed by the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation and the Dubai International Marine Club. Participants and esteemed guests will be welcomed at one o’clock in the afternoon. The official program for the event will commence at two o’clock in the afternoon, after which everyone will proceed to the assembly point for the initiation of the rowing boat parade at around quarter to three.

The event today will be attended by a number of dignitaries and officials from the UAE Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation and the Dubai International Marine Club.
