Successful Conclusion of the Dubai Fishing Competition 2024

The Dubai Fishing Competition 2024 concluded successfully, organized by the Dubai International Marine Club as part of the 2023-2024 marine sports season. The resounding success of the competition was reflected in its popularity among fishing enthusiasts and boat show visitors during the event. More than 80 participants competed over the course of 5 days for a total prize money of 165,000 dirhams.

The winners for the two categories, Kingfish and Cobia, were awarded during the last day of the Dubai International Boat Show 2024, a major event for manufacturers, producers, and decision-makers in the marine industries in the region and the Middle East.

His Excellency Khalfan Harib, the world champion and Victory star in the 1990s, awarded all the winners in one of the country's popular sports, the Dubai Fishing Competition. 

The Al Tayer team stole the show on the final day after the founder of the team, contestant no. 55, Hazza Mohammed bin Rabie Al Muhairi, snatched first place in the Kingfish category with a prize of 25,000 dirhams after catching a fish on the last day of the competition weighing 36.5 kg and measuring 157 cm. 

Participant no. 81, Ali Ateeq Ali Dhaen Al Muhairbi, came in second place in the Kingfish category after he succeeded in catching a fish with a total weight of 34 kg and measuring 158 cm, winning 20,000 dirhams. While participants no. 68, Saeed Ibrahim Abdullah Mohammed, took the third place in this category, catching a fish with a weight of 28.15 kg and a length of 151 cm, winning 18,000 dirhams.

Abdullah Ishaq Abdullah participants no. 16 , won first place in the cobia category after catching a fish weighing 31.7 kg and measuring 127 cm, earning a prize of 15,000 dirhams. Participant no. 59, Ali Saeed Al Mazrouei, came in second place with a fish weighing 26.1 kg and measuring 130 cm. He received a prize of 10,000 dirhams, while contestant No. 66, Fares Abdullah Mohammed Al Shamsi, secured third place with a fish weighing 21.1 kg and measuring 130 cm, winning 5,000 dirhams.

The award ceremony took place after the final results were approved by the organizing committee, in the presence of the world champion, Khalfan Hareb, Mohammed Al Marri - Director of Sports Affairs at the Dubai International Marine Club, and Ahmed Hassan Al Suwaidi. They also awarded the winners of the Hydrofly and Freestyle Competition held in the boat show.

The organizing committee at the Dubai International Marine Club was keen to honor the success partners from the supporting national institutions and government agency , which presented valuable prizes to the tournament winners, namely Al-Yazzi Marine, Sayaf Marine, and the Italian company Mias Fish, specializing in handcrafted fishing rods.

The champion of the Kingfish category at the Dubai Fishing Competition, Hazza Mohammed bin Rabie Al Muhairi, is happy with his great achievement in winning and being crowned, stressing that the excellence of the Al Tayer team continues in various tournaments. He emphasizes that the dream is growing through the expansion of the team's membership, which includes an elite group of watersports enthusiasts.
