100 participants for the first round of the Dubai Fishing Championship 2020 organized by the Dubai International Marine Club within the marine sports season 2019-2020 which will start today-Thursday-and will continue until Saturday (16th-18th January 2020).
Hezaim Al Gemzi, Director of Sports Department at DIMC revealed that the fishing enthusiast in the country awaits for this event that's why the participation became double compare to the last year as the event turn out to be a success and for the first in this event the female participants which are sponsored by Delma Marine - Mercury.
He said that the organizing committee allocated 230 thousand dirhams as the prize for the participants which will be distributed to the one that will take top places in the two categories (Kingfish and Cobia). The winner for the biggest catch in weight in Kingfish category will take home a total of 75 thousand dirhams wherein the 25 thousand dirhams will be from the organizing committee and the 50 thousand dirhams from the sponsor company Delma Marine - Mercury in addition to that P&O Marina will give a one year free of charge wet berth for a maximum of 15m boat worth of 45 thousand dirhams for the champion of each round.
The Director of the Racing Department was keen to thank all the supporters and sponsors of the competitions, including the company Delma Marine for boats and Mercury for marine engines, which add motivation to all the champions of Kingfish and Cobia, as well as the P&O Marinas Foundation, which allocated a prize for the first place in each round in addition to that for hosting the championship in their headquarters today until Saturday and the Dubai Fishermen Cooperative Society that will take over the sale of fish and then benefit from its proceeds to charitable societies the same as it the previous rounds of Dubai Fishing Competitions. The Dubai International Boat Show 2020, will provide a golden opportunity for the champions of the tournament at the end of the second round to participate in the International Fishing Competition.
