The organizing committee at Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) completed the procedure for the registration of the competitors for the first round of the Dubai Fishing Competition for Kingfish and Cobia which will start tomorrow with the sticker collection prior to starting the actual fishing competition.
DIMC is organizing the Dubai Fishing Competition in its fourth season in a row with the continuous increase of interest among the different segments of society and sporting groups in fishing, which enhances the club’s role in the awareness of this sport.
DIMC allocated total prize money of 200,000 Dirhams for winners in both categories wherein 170,000 dirhams goes to the top 13 winners for King Fish Category while the 30,000 dirhams will be to the top 3 winners in Cobia Category.
The organizing committee had announced the opening of registration earlier this week in the club’s official website and the sticker collection is set to begin tomorrow along with the start of fishing competition and on the next day (Friday) will be the handover of catch fish until Sunday.
It is worth mentioning that Dubai Watersports Day Festival will start tomorrow with launching of the first round of fishing competition. On Saturday the festival will kick off with another fishing event, the Kayak Boat Fishing followed by Stand Up Paddling & Kayak, Modern Sailing Race and on Sunday the first round of the UAE Int’l Aquabike Championship. The exciting competition will bring together elite racers to compete in 12 different categories such as the Ski Division GP1 - GP2, Ski Junior GP3.1 - GP3.2 - GP3.3, Runabout GP3- GP2 - GP1 - GP4, Veterans GP2 (2 Stroke), Freestyle and Flyboard.
