Dubai, 26th September 2021: Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) is set to launch the new Sports Season Calendar 2021-2022 on Friday (1st of October) with the first round of the 22ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race.
The new season schedule includes a diversity of watersports events ranging from traditional to modern sports races in which the club has hosted since its founding year, 1988.
Rashid Thani Al Aail, Head of Sports Committee and Board Member of DIMC, expresses his gratitude towards the club Board of Directors for the continuous support and guidance in achieving the goals in line with the Strategic Directions 2021-2027.
He said that the new season is packed with 25 exciting watersports events including the traditional races such as 60ft Dhow Sailing (3 Rounds), 43ft Dhow Sailing Race (2 Rounds), 22ft Dhow Sailing Race (2 Rounds), and the Traditional Rowing Race 30ft (3 Rounds) including the Al Maktoum Cup.
It will include as well the races that attracted the interest of the marine sports enthusiast such as the Dubai Kitesurf Open (3 Rounds), UAE Int’l Aquabike Championship (2 Rounds), and the Dubai Junior Regatta (2 Rounds)
The Sports Committee will organize enhanced community events this season divided into three phases such as Dubai Watersports Festival, Hatta Standup Paddling & Kayak, and People of Determination Championship in addition to the Dubai Fishing Competition (2 Rounds) and Dubai Kayak Boats Fishing Tournament.
