Al Marri stated that there will be no changes in the current specifications for participating boats, as well as the rules & regulations of the competition. However, he mentioned the existence of numerous proposals and ideas, which will be thoroughly discussed in the upcoming period with plans to implement them in the subsequent season of 2024-2025.

The Dubai Traditional Rowing Race 30ft commenced its inaugural season back in 1996-1997 as part of the vision of the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who conceived the idea for this category and various traditional marine races. The first race took place on the 7th of March 1997, featuring the participation of 15 boats. The boat Fatah Al-Ma’in 2, led by Khalifa Ali Al-Nazar, secured the first-place position.

Since the establishment of this category, the Dubai International Marine Club has organized multiple events to promote it extensively and encourage both the country's residents and enthusiasts to engage in the sport. The club has introduced several conditions to facilitate participation, particularly after introducing a new round for the open category for the first time in the 2021-2022 season.
