60ft Dhow Sailing Race at Dubai Beach on Saturday

Dubai International Marine Club will organize the first round of the Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race on Saturday, the 27th of November 2021 under the current season 2021-2022. 

The race comes along as a celebration from the people of the sea on the upcoming 50th National Day of the UAE wherein we will witness a great heritage sport that gathers hundreds of dhow to sail in the depth of the Arabian Gulf towards Dubai shore reenacting their forefathers journey to pearl diving. 

The club announced yesterday the opening of the registration thru SMS along with the Race Instruction for the upcoming big race that will continue until Thursday at 2:00 PM. As part of the committee's preparation, they communicated with the various government departments and national institutions for their support and cooperation. 

DIMC monitor closely all the details pertaining to the weather forecast report by the National Center of Meteorology as it plays a big role in ensuring the safety of all the participants.

The Dubai Traditional Dhow SailingRace  - 60ft will have three races this season, the first one on Saturday followed by the Second Round on 8th of January 2022 and the final round would be the Al Gaffal Long Distance Race from Sir Bu Na'air on the month of May 2022.

The Dubai International Marine Club is scheduled to organize within the racing calendar for the 2021-2022 sports season three races in the Dubai Local 60ft Sailing Championships, the first next Saturday and the second on January 8th, while the third round will be Misk with the third round of the Al Gaffal Long Distance Race from Sir Bu Nair Island and even the beaches of Dubai during the month of May.
