Dubai International Marine Club will organize the second round of the Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race – 60ft this Saturday, as part of the current sports season 2023-2024.

The upcoming race plays a significant role for all captains and sailors, representing an important milestone and rehearsal in preparation for the 33rd Al Gaffal Race, which commences from Sir Bu Nair Island to the shores of Dubai.

The organizing committee has announced the early start of preparations to ensure the success of the race, in coordination with government departments and national institutions. They also announced the opening of the registration procedure through the club’s website, which is set to close on Friday prior to the announcement of the Entry List of Participants.

Mohammed Al Marri, the Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Dubai International Marine Club, stated that the organizing committee aims to make the anticipated race a success, serving as a rehearsal for captains and sailors before the 33rd Al Gaffal Race, which will conclude the club’s 2023-2024 season.

Al Marri stressed that the organizing committee is monitoring all reports received from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) and various specialized websites regarding the sea state and the wind speeds in the Arabian Gulf in the coming hours and days, to ensure the race is conducted under the best condition possible.
