(Dahis 18 ) Champion of the 22ft Dhow Race in Youth Category

Success in the opening of the new season 2021-2022 with the first round of 22ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race held last Friday with the participation of 35 boats carrying more than 150 sailors (youth & junior).

Dubai International Marine Club succeeded in organizing the event providing a suitable racecourse with a distance of 5 nautical miles that started off with the green flag in the Palm Jumeirah area towards the finish line in Jumeirah 4 (P&O Marinas). 

Dahis boat no. 18 owned & skippered by Abdul Rahman Abdullah Muhammad took the spotlight in the first round of the 22ft Dhow Sailing Race in Youth Category against its rival boat no. 87 Zilzal owned and led by Issa Sultan Juma Al Marzouki who took the second spot at a close distance with the third-placer boat no.131 Mafarj owned by His Excellency Dr. Mubarak Hamad bin Marzouq Al Ameri and skippered by Ibrahim Saleh Al Hammadi.

For the Junior Category, the first place was taken by the titleholder Toofan boat no. 21 owned by Ahmed Ismail Ahmed Al Marzouki and skippered by Zayed Sultan Saeed Al Dhaheri. While on the second spot was boat no. 114 Moreb owned and skippered by Zayed Saleh Mohammed Ahmed Al Hammadi up against boat no.  24 Sarab owned by Mohammed Abdulaziz Ibrahim Al Hammadi and skippered by Abdul Rahman Muhammad Abdulaziz Al Hammadi.

The sailor's festivity continues with the awarding ceremony for the top 3 winners of each category held in Fishing Harbour 2 - Umm Sequim with the presence of Mohammed Harib - CEO of DIMC, and Hazeem Al Gemzi - Director of Sports Affairs Development Department.
