Ajman 60, a boat owned by His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, and led by Juma Yousef Al Junaibi, topped the first half of the opening round of the Dubai Traditional Rowing Race last Saturday at Al Jaddaf. While on the second half the Bahraini team dominates the race with KHK 54 owned by Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and led by the captain Ahmed Bin Nasser Bin Hassan Al Busumait.
It was a successful event organized by Dubai International Marine Club under the new sports season 2021-2022 wherein we witnessed 30 boat participants carrying 270 people embodying the heritage of the prestigious Race in one of the touristic spots in Dubai in Al Jaddaf area near the Dubai Creek Wildlife Sanctuary with the view of the skyline of Burj Khalifa as well as the finish line showcasing the façade of Festival City.
The boat Ajman 60 excelled in the first half among the 16 boats after a strong performance of the crew led by Juma Yousef Al Junaibi in the last meters towards the finish line against the rival boat no. 39 Asas owned by Khalifa Rashid bin Shaheen Al Marar and skippered by Bader Abdul Hakim Muhammad. Going up for the third spot is boat no. 7 Al Saroukh owned and led by Ibrahim Sultan Al Marzouki.
The excitement continues as we crossed the second half of the race with 13 strong boat participants dominated by KHK 54 and Victorious 53 who took the second place led by Abdullah Khalifa Al Haddi while the third spot goes to Dubai Police 3 led by Mohammed Ismail Al Falasi.
The race concluded with festivity among the winners as they take their awards on the podium with the presence of Mohammed Harib - CEO of DIMC, Hezaim Al Gemzi – Race Director and Lt. Col Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi, Head of the Maritime Rescue Department at Ports Police Station.
