The Higher Organizing Committee of the Al Gaffal Race at the Dubai International Marine Club commended the significant role played by the Dubai Police in ensuring the success of all marine sports events throughout the 2023-2024 sports season. 

The Committee expressed gratitude for the extensive support provided by the Dubai Police and its various departments in the successful conclusion of the 33rd edition of the Al Gaffal 60ft Traditional Dhow Sailing Race from Sir Bu Nair Island to Dubai's shore. 

Brigadier General Dr. Hassan Suhail Al Suwaidi, Director of the Ports Police Station in Dubai, received an honorary shield from Mohammed Abdulla Harib Al Falahi, Board Member and Chief Executive Officer at DIMC, in recognition of their contributions and vital role in ensuring the safety of participants and the overall success of the events. 

Colonel Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi, Acting Deputy Director of the Ports Police Station at Dubai Police, was also honored by the Dubai International Marine Club for his active participation with the organizing committee and his supervision of security and safety during the race. 

The Higher Organizing Committee also honored several departments within the Dubai Police, including the General Department of Community Happiness, which was received by Major Saif Khalfan Ahmed Al Mansouri.

Women's Team

The Dubai International Marine Club praised the participation of the women’s maritime security and rescue team in the 33rd Al Gaffal 60ft Traditional Dhow Sailing Race. The team accompanied the race from the starting point at Sir Bu Nair Island to the finish line at Dubai Shore, where its members were honored under the leadership of Major Atiqa Musabeh Al Dhaheri, President of the team.

Mohammed Abdulla Harib Al Falahi, Board Member and Chief Executive Officer at DIMC, expressed thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, for the continuous cooperation and unlimited support provided by the General Command of Dubai Police for the success of the club’s activities as an essential partner and strategic supporter.

He emphasized that the role of Dubai Police and its various departments extends beyond ensuring the safety of participants and securing events. They also contribute to organizing and facilitating the participation of teams and competitors, which significantly enhances marine sports and fosters the development of talented individuals in the country.
