Dubai International Marine Club successfully concluded the UAE Rowing Championship - Round 1, Dubai on the shores of Jumeirah as part of the Dubai Watersport Day 2025. The event, held under the supervision of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation (UAESARF), witnessed the participation of 40 male and female athletes from six sports clubs.
Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club reaffirmed its dominance in the championship, securing the Overall with an impressive 71 points. Sharjah Women’s Sports Club excelled in the women’s category, securing second place overall with 36 points, while Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club claimed third place with 23 points. Dubai Police Team ranked fourth with 4 points, Abu Dhabi Rowing Club finished fifth with 2 points, and New York University Abu Dhabi came in sixth.
Outstanding Performances Across Categories
Al Hamriyah's athletes shone in the men's singles category, with Khamis Ghanem Al Shamsi clinching gold, Hamad Al Matroushi taking silver, and Saeed Jamal earning bronze. In the Under-23 Singles, Thiyab Al Awadhi won gold, followed by Gaith Al Balushi (silver) and Imran Al Shamsi (bronze). The youth singles category saw Sultan Al Shamsi claim gold, Salem Al Mansouri silver, and Rashed Al Ali bronze. Al Hamriyah also secured gold and silver in the quadruple rowing category.
In the men’s doubles, Al Hamriyah dominated again, with Hamad Al Matroushi and Hamad Ghanem Al Shamsi winning gold, and Mubarak Al Yassi and Humaid Al Matroushi earning silver. The bronze medal went to Abu Dhabi Rowing Club’s duo, Mihir Al Hafiti and Farshad Mohammadi. Al Hamriyah continued its success in the youth doubles category, with Sultan Al Shamsi and Hamad Al Hosani taking gold, while Rashed Al Ali and Salem Al Mansouri secured silver.
In the women’s category, Sharjah Women’s Sports Club dominated the quadruple rowing event, securing gold, while Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club finished second. In the women’s singles, Bushra Ibrahim Qadri emerged victorious, outperforming her sister Hamda Qadri, who took silver. Elena Sladojevic from Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club won bronze. Abu Dhabi’s Ahoud Al Dhaheri and Elena Sladojevic secured gold in the women’s doubles, with Sharjah’s team taking silver and bronze.
Sharjah Women’s Sports Club also excelled in the Under-19 girls' singles category, with Bushra Ibrahim Qadri winning gold, Fatima Khalaf Rabee Jumaa earning silver, and Shamsa Sultan Al Sharyani securing bronze. In the Under-19 girls' doubles, Shouq Al Mansouri and Fatima Khalaf claimed gold, surpassing their teammates Shamsa Al Sharyani and Bushra Qadri, who took silver.
Awards Ceremony and Recognition
Following the thrilling competitions, Mohammed Abdullah Harib, Board Member and CEO of the Dubai International Marine Club, alongside Mohammed Abdullah Al Obaidli, Secretary General of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation, and Mohammed Saif Al Marri, Race Director, honored the winners across the individual, doubles, and quadruple categories. The overall championship title was awarded to Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club for achieving the highest total points in the medal standings.
