Al Teber 55 tops the 43ft Dhow Sailing Championship

Al Teber "55" owned by Rashid Mohammed Rashid bin Ghadeer and led by Mohammed Sohail AL Muhairi tops the overall standing for the Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race (43ft) Championship which was organized by Dubai International Marine Club under the sports season 2022-2023. 

This category is one of the oldest in the Dhow Sailing Championship which was passed down from their forefathers wherein the club has successfully organized two rounds this season: the first one took place on last 8th of October and the 19th of November.

 

During the two rounds of competition, the crew of boat 55 collected 5 points to qualify as the top boat for the overall championship in this category, in the first round Al Teber 55 took off the 4th place, and in the second round, they took the first place that gave them a big lead among all other boats.

The second place goes to boat no. 87 Al Dhafrah owned by Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and led by Mohammed Abdullah Juma Al Marzouqi who collected a total of 8 points in the two rounds.

The rest of the top boats are no. 70 Nazaa with 16 points led by Youssef Ahmed Mohamed Al Hammadi for the third place with 16 points up against boat no. 39 Shaheen with 18 points skippered by Khalifa Abed Al Marri while boat no. 230 Barq led by Jaber Mohamed Al Hammadi took 5th place with 22 points.

Mohammed Sohail Al Muhairi , the captain of boat Al Teber 55 expressed his great happiness with the remarkable brilliance of the boat crews to win the Championship for the Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race (43ft) despite the difficulty that arise such as the changing of weather conditions during the race.

He said that behind the team's success was the great role of the boat owner, Rashid Mohammed Rashid bin Ghadeer who support and encourages cooperation among the team during the practice and the competition.

Al Muhairi thanked as well the Dubai International Marine Club for organizing the Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race 43ft in season 2022-2023 and wishing the organization success in all races they organize.

Sahm 170 led by the young captain Ahmed Youssef Salem Al Hammadi took first place in the first round of the competition while his late arrival in the second round put him in 26th place gathering total points of 15 points to take over the 8th position in the overall standing.

A total of 75 boats participated in the first and second rounds of the Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race (43ft).
