(DIMC) allocates 428.60 KG of Fish Proceeds to Charitable Organizations

The first round of the Dubai Fishing Competition achieved a great success with the participation of 70 fishing enthusiast who was able to catch & submit a total of 428.6 KG of fish,  wherein the proceeds from this will go to the Charitable Organization in coordination with the Dubai Fishermen Cooperative Society. 

The competition was held for four consecutive days in the P&O Marinas in Umm Suqeim 2, Jumeirah 5 witnessed by the Fishing enthusiast, and followed by the DIMC CEO, Mohammed Harib whom described the excitement and huge anticipation of all the participants.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan visit and praised the efforts of the Dubai International Marine Club in diversifying and increasing community events by providing a suitable environment to practice their hobby and to get engaged in various watersports. 

A total of 18 fish was submitted during the first round of the competition and after the review of the committee, 9 was accepted for Kingfish category, 6 for the Cobia and 2 were disqualified for not following the rules & regulation.

It is worth mentioning that the club is set to organize second round on 9-13th of March 2022 in conjunction with 27th Dubai International Boat Show at Dubai Harboura world-class maritime destination boasting the most advanced cruise terminal and the biggest marina in the region.


1997

Looking back at the first official competition for Fishing was held on 8th of March 1997 by Dubai International Marine Club, and returned back thru the organization of the Dubai Fishing Competition held every season.

In addition to that,  the club hosted for the first time the Dubai Kayak Fishing Championship as part of the Dubai Watersports Festival last 2020 held in Jumeirah beach.
