The Board of Directors at Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) extends its thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, for the continuous support and encouragement. Additionally, gratitude is extended to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, for his constant follow-up and guidance.

The Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) appreciate the trust bestowed upon them by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, to assume responsibility for managing the club’s work for a new period of 4 years starting in 2024 under the Dubai Sports Council (DSC), stressing the importance of working as one team to achieve goals and continue the wise leadership approach towards excellence.

This came during the inaugural meeting of the re-established Board of Directors, which was issued at the beginning of January this year. The board is led by Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar as Chairman, with Saif Juma Al Suwaidi as Vice Chairman, along with the membership of Khalid Khamis bin Dasmal, Khalid Ali Al Balooshi, and Mohammed Harib, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at DIMC.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) expressed gratitude to the former members of the Board for their sincere dedication during the last season, extending his best wishes for the success of everyone in the Board of Directors, organizational units, and departments in the club for the upcoming period.

The Board of Directors commended the efforts of the club’s executive management and administrative units in the past period. They acknowledged the achievements made in line with the goals of the club’s strategic plan for 2021-2027, facing challenges as motivation to attain further gains in the next stage. During this phase, the club aspires to anticipate a new chapter.

The meeting covered discussions on administrative and technical reports, including the approval of several administrative affairs regulations to be adopted starting the new year. Additionally, it reviewed the progress of the watersports season 2023-2024, with a significant contribution from the Sports Affairs Department, which is gearing up to finalize its preparations before the upcoming 33rd edition of the Al Gaffal race.

Furthermore, the meeting highlighted key anticipated events in this season's calendar, including the hosting and organizing of the first GCC Modern Sailing Championship for People of Determination under Special Olympics World and the Special Olympics UAE. The event is scheduled from the 4th to the 8th of March 2024.

The club's Board of Directors extended a warm welcome to hosting the event, emphasizing its significance in bringing together a substantial segment of society in support of the club's societal goals. The championship will unite teams from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

They also praised the achievements of the club's collaboration with government departments and national institutions through memorandums of understanding (MoU) with numerous institutions, thereby strengthening the club's position.

The Board congratulated the club's success following the Victory Team Department at DIMC for becoming the Technical and Operational Team of Team Miami in the UIM E1 World Championship, commencing on the 2nd and 3rd of February in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

In line with this, the Board approved the participation of the Victory Team in the new season of the F1H2O World Powerboat Championship, with the first round scheduled from the 23rd to the 25th of February in Indonesia. This decision aims to fulfill ambitions and continue the team's successes, following their recent achievement of securing second place in the overall standings for the 2023 powerboat championship season.

To conclude the meeting, they instructed the executive management to prepare for participation in the 30th session of the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS). The event will take place at Dubai Harbour from the 28th of February until the 3rd of March. The directive is to highlight the club’s integral role in revitalizing the popular heritage of the United Arab Emirates and showcasing the development of marine sports. Additionally, the presentation should emphasize the significant contributions of the Victory Team in boat manufacturing and powerboat racing.
