DIMC Board of Directors discusses the start of the new season

The Dubai International Marine Club Board of Directors extends its congratulations to the wise leaders of the United Arab Emirates on the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai, which constitutes a remarkable event to date in the country’s history in conjunction with its golden jubilee celebration (50th year of the UAE). This came off during the monthly meeting held last Wednesday chaired by Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar, DIMC Chairman with the Vice-Chairman Saif Juma Al Suwaidi.  Attended by the members Ibrahim Al Hadad, Rashid Thani Al Aail, Jamal Zaal , Essa Nasser, and Khalid Al Balooshi

The Board of Directors emphasized the importance of hosting an international exhibition; that brings together countries across the globe in a land that upheld the values of tolerance, peace, and humanity. It’s a great achievement for the UAE to showcase globally its capabilities to host a major event and to be a leading cultural and economic destination.

The first phase of the meeting talks about the Sports Committee‘s preparation for the start of the new season to be held on Friday (8th of October) with the 22ft Dhow Sailing Race, which is one of the 25 diverse events that the club will host until May 2022. In line with that the discussion of the rounds per category in the traditional and modern races as well as approval of the enhanced community event which is divided into three phases.

Afterward, the Board of Directors praises the recent achievement of the Victory Team in the UIM ABP Aquabike World Championships held in Olbia, Italy last month wherein the team succeeded in claiming the title in Ski GP1 with its Austrian Rider Kevin Reiterer (90). 

In conclusion , they discussed the steps taken by the club in the investment aspect based on the approved Strategic Plan 2021-2027 that includes preparation for the Victory Team participation in the 27th Dubai International Boat Show on 8-12 March 2022 in Dubai Harbour.
