Our world champion in Modern Sailing and star of the national team, Adil Khalid Al Bastaki, received a special honor from the Dubai International Marine Club in appreciation of his outstanding achievements in the recent international and regional championships.
The world champion, Adil Khalid Al Bastaki, received from Saif Juma Al Suwaidi, the Vice Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, a Certificate of Appreciation from the Dubai International Marine Club during its monthly meeting held last Thursday. DIMC honors & celebrates with him the victory and great achievement in Modern Sailing.
Adil Khalid Al Bastaki recently won third place and the bronze medal in the 2022 ILCA 7 Masters World Championship held in Mexico, and the gold medal in the 14th Rabat International Nautical Festival in ILCA Class 6 in Morocco. He also participated and won the gold medal in Kuwait in ILCA 7 competition. DIMC appreciates Adil's outstanding achievement and success in Sailing.
This initiative comes in line with the club's strategic plan to support talents and achievers, especially since Al Bastaki is one of the club's sons who rose to prominence with the team of the Modern Sailing School in Dubai International Marine Club, which was established in 1999 as the first institution for Sailing. He also represent the state with the delegations of the National Olympic Committee Forums, including the seventh Arab Games that took place in Egypt in 2007, in which he won the bronze medal, by then he was honored as the first athlete in Modern Sailing to compete in individual competitions in the Olympic Games in China in 2008.
