DIMC Recognizes the Contributions of Success Partners

27 December 2024

The Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC), during its monthly meeting chaired by Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar, Chairman of DIMC, acknowledged the invaluable and continuous support extended to the sports sector by the wise leadership and officials of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Dubai.

In its final meeting of 2024, the Board expressed heartfelt gratitude to the supporting entities and strategic partners, including government departments, national institutions, federations, teams, academies, and competitors who participated in various events throughout the year. Their collective efforts played a pivotal role in the success of these events and further solidified Dubai's reputation as a premier sports destination in the region and the Middle East.

This acknowledgment was made during a meeting held yesterday, attended by Saif Juma Al Suwaidi, Vice Chairman, alongside members Khalid Khamis bin Dasmal, Khalid Ali Al Balooshi, and Mohammed Abdullah Harib Al Falahi, Chief Executive Officer.

During the meeting, the Board of Directors praised the efforts of the DIMC Executive Management and organizational units for their dedication and vigilance in ensuring the success of all events. These efforts led to remarkable achievements, including hosting the opening round of the UIM’s 2024 calendar with the UAE International Aquabike Championship and concluding the year with the final round of the 2024 UIM XCAT World Powerboat Championship – Dubai Grand Prix, which returned to the club's calendar after a two-year hiatus.

The Board also commended the successful organization of traditional races this year, such as the 33rd edition of the Al Gaffal Long Distance Race from Sir Bu Nair Island to Dubai’s shores in May and the 28th edition of the Al Maktoum Cup Traditional Rowing Race – 30ft in November. They emphasized the importance of maintaining excellence in these events as preparations begin for the highly anticipated 34th edition of the Al Gaffal Race next year.

The Board approved the participation of DIMC’s representative and UAE sports ambassador, the Victory Team, in the 2025 season. This includes competing in the XCAT World Powerboat Championship, which spans multiple international locations, and the F1H2O World Powerboat Championship, featuring Asian and European rounds before culminating in the UAE.

The Board praised the Victory Team's outstanding results this year, with the team securing top-three finishes in both the XCAT and F1H2O championships. This achievement reaffirms the team’s status as a prestigious name in international powerboat racing.

Additionally, the Board reviewed the team’s ongoing preparations for the upcoming season and directed efforts to ensure the best opportunities for success. This includes contracting top expertise to support the team’s goals, fostering national talents, and ensuring a strong start. The Board also commended the renewal of racer Ahmed Al Fahim's contract for the third consecutive season, affirming his participation in the F1H2O World Powerboat Championship.
