05 July 2024

The Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Club extended its sincere thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, for his great support and continuous follow-up in the sports sector in Dubai, particularly in marine sports. This support has contributed to excellence and leadership at all levels, enhancing the UAE’s position as a global center for sports.

The Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Club also appreciated the interest and follow-up of the officials of the Dubai Sports Council, who have motivated and encouraged sports clubs in the emirate to achieve excellence and leadership, thereby pushing the sports system in Dubai towards more achievements at all levels.

This acknowledgment came during the fourth monthly meeting of the club’s board of directors, headed by DIMC ChairmanH.E. Ahmed Saeed Bin Meshar, and attended by Saif Juma Al Suwaidi - Vice Chairman, along with members Khaled Khamis bin Dasmal, Khaled Ali Al Balooshi, and Mohammed Abdullah Harib Al Falahi Chief Executive Officer (CEO). During the meeting, many topics and agenda items were discussed, including the club’s performance report presented by the DIMC Chairman and CEO at the recent Dubai Sports Council Board of Directors meeting, which received great praise and appreciation.

In the meeting, the Board of Directors at the Dubai International Marine Club discussed the preparations for the upcoming new sports season 2024-2025 and ways to improve the events to maintain excellence in organizing and hosting them. This includes the international events in the new season, such as the final round of the UIM XCAT World Powerboat Championship, scheduled to take place from the 6th- 8th of December 2024, which is the closing ceremony for the calendar of the Union Motonautique Internationale (UIM). Wishing everyone the success in the World Powerboat Championship.

They also assigned the club’s delegation to the second round of the championship, which is set to take place this month.

The recent race results, which saw participation from the Victory Team in the third and final round of the F1H2O World Powerboat Championship in Olbia, Italy, were also discussed. The team faced a technical problem that prevented Erik Stark from competing for the lead, while Ahmed Al Fahim finished in 7th place.

The club’s board of directors directed the administrative and technical staff of the Victory Team to redouble their efforts in the next stage to better prepare the Victory boats for the ongoing world championship. Currently, the Victory 4 boat occupies third place at the end of the third round with 62 points, one point behind the second-placed  Vietnam 1, and 15 points behind the leaders Sharjah 17.

They also praised the efforts of the club’s Sports Affairs Department, which is working to implement distinguished programs and events for the new season and provide opportunities for the 2024-2025 season. This will include, for the first time, a unique event for the People of Determination: the GCC Modern Sailing Championship. This event will be held in coordination with the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation (UAESARF) and the UAE Special Olympics, from 2nd to 6th of October 2024.
