Dubai Island to witness the first Wing Foil Competition

Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) is set to launch a new competition called "Kite Foil' at the Dubai Kitesurf Open this weekend at Dubai Islands managed by Nakheel. 

The upcoming event will be held under the supervision of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation (UAESARF) headed by Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, and in cooperation with the Emirates Kiteboarding Association (EKA) for the sixth consecutive season in a row. 

It is expected that this event will gather more than 100 male and female competitors from the UAE national team and kitesurfing enthusiast in the UAE.

Mohammed Harib, CEO of DIMC said that the club always find its way to develop the sports system by adding new sports category that potentially gain the attention & interest of the youth & professionals in the country. One of those is the “Kite Foil category” that will be added for the first time in Dubai Kitesurf Open which have received popularity thus prompted the club to officially launch it this weekend in cooperation with the UAESARF & EKA.

Harib invites all the kite surfer in the country (Beginners-Pro) to register early for the 4 categories in Dubai Kitesurf Open happening this Saturday until Sunday in conjunction with UAE Int’l Aquabike Championship.
