Dubai Police Strategic Partnership with DIMC

08 March 2024

Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the General Command of Dubai Police to enhance the existing cooperation. This collaboration has led to the continuous development of marine sports since the club's founding in 1988, as well as an increase in the number of participants and the diversity of sporting events.

The signing of the memorandum is grounded in the vision of wise leadership and the strategic directives of the state. Its objective is to strengthen cooperation and joint coordination between the two parties while fostering future partnerships to benefit society at large and promote the advancement of marine sports.

The memorandum was signed by Mohammed Harib, Board Member and CEO of Dubai International Marine Club, and Dr. Maryam Anas Al Matroushi, Chairman of the Athletes’ Council at Dubai Police. The signing took place on the sidelines of the third edition of the World Police Summit 2024, which concluded yesterday under the slogan 'Unifying global police efforts for a safer future,' at the Dubai World Trade Center. The signing ceremony was attended by several officers, Dubai Police personnel, and department directors from the club.

In light of the memorandum, the Dubai Police General Command provides maritime support with personnel and resources, secures venues for sporting and community events, facilitates communications between units, exchanges experiences and workshops. Meanwhile, the club supports Dubai Police sports teams in tournaments and competitions, provides information and promotes maritime community campaigns, and offers technical support as needed. The exchange of experiences and courses regarding maritime safety and the formation of joint working teams in events and activities are also facilitated.

Mohammed Harib expressed continuous gratitude to the General Command of Dubai Police for their ongoing support and significant role in the success of all sporting and community events organized by the club throughout the sports season. He also thanked Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, for his consistent interest and substantial support, as well as various departments within the command, emphasizing their role in ensuring the safety of participants and contributing to creating happiness for all involved.

Harib further stated, "We are pleased to announce the signing of this new partnership, which will serve our sector and mark a new turning point for a better and sustainable future. This initiative aligns with the strategic directions of the club's Board of Directors, aiming to establish lasting partnerships with our national institutions."

Dr. Maryam Anas Al Matrooshi, Chairman of the Dubai Police Athletes Council, emphasized that the signing of the memorandum during the third edition of the World Police Summit reflects the commitment of both Dubai Police and Dubai International Marine Club to strengthen cooperation in sports, particularly in marine sports, to achieve common goals and enhance the partnership effectively.

Dr. Maryam Anas Al Matroushi appreciated the cooperative relationship with Dubai International Marine Club, highlighting its significance within Dubai Police efforts to strengthen partnerships with both public and private sectors, especially in sports.
