The Dubai International Marine Club(DIMC) unveiled its new project as part of its ongoing initiative since its founding year in 1988. The recently completed project targets a modern application fanatic and those who are interested in online gaming, by launching a virtual race that simulates the competition of the Modern Sailing boats around the world, that will sail under “Virtual Regatta Inshore - Dubai”

The launching of this project will be the first of its kind in the UAE ,Asia and MENA region in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council (DSC), and with the plans of the DSC, which is the official sport’s governing body of the emirates.

This comes within the framework of the club and the interest of the DIMC Board Members to increase the marine sports enthusiast and to provide opportunities for various sector of the society to participate. This will also enhance their sailing skills in an exciting atmosphere and full of fun application through smartphone which is widely used by a lot of young people nowadays.

The “Virtual Regatta Inshore - Dubai” is a valuable gift from Dubai International Marine Club in line with the current trend in virtual sports, especially to the watersports enthusiast who have mainly known such competition to occupy their leisure time and improve their sailing skills virtually.

This project also aims to promote the landmark of Dubai wherein the participants will have their unique sailing experience in the prominent landmark of emirate. From the overlooking waterfront of Arabian Gulf beaches that highlights the prestige of the city to Palm Jumeirah Island to Blue Water Island, Bulgari at Jumeirah Island, Burj Al Arab and Kite Beach. And with the stunning view of the world’s tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa and the tourist port at JBR.

The Virtual Regatta Inshore App is downloadable thru Google Play if you are using an Android device or Apple Store for Apple device, wherein it will show all the virtual tours it has including the latest tour, the Dubai Challenge.
