First Round of Traditional Rowing Race today at Dubai Water Canal

This afternoon, we will witness the launching of the Dubai Traditional Rowing Race - Heat 1 in Dubai Water Canal in the Al Jaddaf area opposite Wildlife Sanctuary in Dubai Creek, which is organized by Dubai International Marine Club as part of the watersports season 2022-2023.
The heritage marine sports will bring together more than 400 sailors on 47 boats who will embody one of the epics past of their forefathers,  as they will compete for the title of Traditional Rowing Race which will be divided into two categories the first will be the Local Boats and the second consists of boats from the GCC Countries, Institution, and companies.

This season awaits the arrival and participation of the elite boats from the GCC countries such as the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman in one of the unique competitions that bring harmony and brotherhood to the land of the UAE.  

While in the local category, the participants have increased to 33 boats prior to the closing of Registration last Friday, reflecting the people's interest in such competition.  

The participants in the first half are preceded by the following boat no. 65, 66, 5, 51, 55, 27, 28, 45, 15, 61, 29, 49, 11, 12, 13, 80, 70, 69, 88, 99, 2, 6, 14, 17, 31, 9, 10, 32, 34, 36, 38, 39 and 43. 

While the second half is preceded by the following boat no. 89, 3, 33, 7, 60, 46, 62, 19, 4, 8, 54, 53, 44, 96.

Dubai Media Incorporated, through Dubai Sports Channels, provides distinguished service to marine sports enthusiasts in the country and the Gulf region through the live telecast of the race which includes two halves.

The coverage of the channel will start at 2:30 in the afternoon in a live studio before the start of the race at 3:00 in the afternoon.

The Dubai Media Incorporated team, under the supervision of Abdul Rahman Amin, Director of Sports Channels, and the follow-up of Abdul Khaliq Al Khamis, Operations Manager, completed all the necessary arrangement to broadcast the race live led by the team director Mohamed Saeed Al Ketbi, with Mohamed Mubarak and Rashid Al-Najjar, while the voice of Abdullah Suwaidan will be present in the commentary on the course of the race.
