Global media outlets have widely shared images and videos of the 34th edition of the Al Gaffal Race, which took place from Sir Bu Nair Island to Dubai shore earlier this month. The race marked the grand finale of the 2024-2025 marine sports season, successfully organized by the Dubai International Marine Club.
Numerous international press agencies highlighted the event, offering extensive coverage through their offices in the Middle East. Among the leading agencies was Agence France-Presse (AFP), which broadcast a video shot by renowned photographer Mumen Al-Khatib. The video was shared in both French and English versions.
The European Press Agency (EPA) provided exceptional coverage, including a 3-minute 21-second video filmed by their chief photographer in the Middle East and North Africa, Ali Haider. EPA also released a photo album containing 47 high-quality images taken by Haider.

Dokoupil captured thrilling and decisive moments during the race, which saw the participation of 118 boats.
The event was also a stage for top photographers, including Karim Sahib, an internationally acclaimed photographer known for highlighting the positive aspects of Middle Eastern communities. Sahib has been documenting the region's maritime heritage, and his first book, A Lens That Seizes the Moment, features 400 images. His work has been published by major international platforms, including the United Nations.
In Portugal, the national news agency Lusa, which serves Europe, Africa, and South America, dedicated significant coverage to the race under the title Sailing in the UAE. Spanish platform ABC, based in Valencia, also featured images from the event.
