The Organizing Committee of the 29th Al Gaffal Long Distance Race continues preparation for the big event that will commence from 25-28 this month, which is held under the support and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance.

The race will kick off from Sir Bu Na’air Island thru Moon Island until the finish line at Burj Al Arab with a race distance of 51 nautical miles.

The organizing committee started last sunday to prepare all the big ships that will follow the race as part of the preparation for the big event and to further wait for the official signal to move there in the island in a suitable sea condition for the safety of everyone .

The registration also continues until today at the club and via electronic link   that was sent to the racer and posting thru social media accounts with the expected 120 boats to participate that will join the celebration of the 29th Al Gaffal Long Distance Race ( a return from the past).

As per the DIMC Chairman , Ahmed Saeed Bin Meshar with huge appreciation and thanks for the support  His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum , Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance since the start of the race at 1991  , where since its launching culminated with success after success year after year to celebrate together in 2019 (Year of Tolerance) on its 29th edition.

He said that the closing race is not only a sports competition among owners and sailors but a celebration of the heritage and culture which all are waiting thru the television and social media channel. He also wishes a success for the 29th edition of the Al Gaffal Long Distance Race and direct the whole team to work with unity to achieve a success. 

He stated that the club has working closely to its success since the founding of the event last 1991 in cooperation with the strategic partner from the government and national institution which provide assistance and support for the whole event of the club with more than 3000 support people in different organization.

The Higher Organizing Committee have played a major role in this event especially the Dubai Police, Civil Defense , Dubai Maritime City Authority, Dubai Municipality, Nakheel Group and Group of Gloria Hotel.

He acknowledge also a great coordination with the Sir Bu Na'air Official such as he General Commander of Sharjah Police and the Supreme Committee of the Sir Bu Na'air Festival of Sharjah in conjunction with Al Gaffal Race. a big gratitude also to the Dubai Media Incorporation through the Dubai Sports TV , other channel such as Sama Dubai, Noor Radio, from Abu Dhabi Media thru Yas Sports TV as well as the Sharjah Radio and Channel for broadcasting the updates and the big race itself.
