Half a ton of fish from DIMC to Beit Al Khair Society

Dubai International Marine Club continued its community initiative during the 2023-2024 sports season by allocating all the caught fish from the Dubai Fishing Competition 2024 to charity, handing them over to the Beit Al Khair Society.

The Dubai Fishing Competition 2024 saw distinguished participation from skilled fishing enthusiasts for five consecutive days during the Dubai International Boat Show. The total weight of the fish handed over during the competition reached 590.95 kg, comprising kingfish and cobia.

Mohammed Harib, Board Member and CEO of Dubai International Marine Club, stated that the club, under the directives of the Board of Directors headed by Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar, always looks forward to serving the community in its various segments and creating bridges of communication between various institutions, including the Beit Al Khair Society. The club has signed a memorandum of understanding with the association, from which both parties will benefit. 

Harib stressed that the club seeks to achieve a noble social goal, which was the reason behind allocating the total fish obtained by the participants to charitable work. This effort enhances the concept of community partnership and supports the interconnectedness of its segments. He praised the significant participation and the influential role of the Beit Al-Khair Society in completing this work, congratulating everyone who participated in the competition for their joint effort and cooperation.

In the Kingfish category, 19 fish were collected, with a total weight reaching 428.95 kg. Among them was contestant No. 55, Hazza Mohammed bin Rabie Al Muhairi, who deservedly achieved first place with a weight of 36.55 kg.

The participants in cobia category succeeded in obtaining 8 fish with the  total weight of 162 kg, and the contestant No. 16, Abdullah Ishaq Abdullah succeeded in catching the heaviest fish and the largest fish with a weight of 31.7 kg.

Contestant No. 81, Ali Ateeq Ali Al Muhairbi, who ranked second in the kingfish category competition, achieved a distinguished record in the Dubai Fishing Competition  2024 by catching the longest catch in term of height (158 cm).
