Today, Sunrise Beach hosts the thrilling first round of the UAE Int'l Aquabike Championship, organized by the Dubai International Marine Club as part of the 2024-2025 season.
The action begins early today, Saturday, with official practice sessions starting at 9:00 AM, followed by the commencement of competitions at 10:00 AM across 10 different categories. These include four divisions in the Runabout class: GP1, GP2, GP3, and GP4 (Spark). The Ski Division features six categories: GP1, GP2, Veterans GP2 (2-Stroke), and the Ski Junior GP3 (3.3, 3.2, 3.1 - Slalom).
The championship's events officially began yesterday morning, Friday, with competitor registration and the arrival of participating teams. The event has attracted up to 60 male and female competitors from various countries, including top athletes from the United Arab Emirates, GCC nations like Kuwait and Qatar, and elite champions from Europe, including representatives from Britain, France, the Netherlands, Russia, and Hungary.
For the first time, a new and innovative category, Ski GP4 (4-Stroke), has been introduced. Notable participants include Abubaker Al Marri, Mohammad Bin Thani, Suhail Rashed Al Tayer, Ali Alali, Saif Rashed Eid Al Shuwihi, Kir Ivanov, and Sultan Majad Al Sharshani.
Rising Talents
The Juniors will showcase emerging talents and rising stars of the future. Among the participants are brothers Ahmed and Hamdan Salem Suhail Rashed Al Tayer, with Hamdan crowned the 2024 champion, competing in the Ski GP3.3 class. Additionally, Mohammed Rashid Al Tayer, Zayed Issa Al Hammadi, and Abdullah Al Awadhi will compete in the Ski GP3.2 category, while Mohammed Harez Al Mar and Hamdan Abdullah Al Hattawi will take part in the Ski GP3.1 class.

Dubai Sports TV Channel will broadcast the final day's events of the UAE Int’l Aquabike Championship during the morning and afternoon sessions.
