Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) organized a unique event over the weekend, bringing together champions from the People of Determination & Olympic Team to participate in modern sailing race at DOSC in Jumeirah. This marks the first time such an event has been held during the current 2022-2023 season.

The aim of this event is to encourage participation in marine sports events among all segments of society, as part of the Dubai Watersports Festival. In the previous season, the People of Determination community had the opportunity to try traditional rowing, kayaking, and stand-up paddling at the Crystal Lagoon in Mohammed Bin Rashid City.

The Special Olympics Modern Sailing Team's roster includes Rashid Abdul Rahman Al-Qubaisi and unified partner Al-Jazi Saif Al-Muhairbi at the second level, as well as Omar Mahmoud Al-Hammadi and Muhammad Salih Al-Zubaidi with consolidating partner Salama Adnan Al-Mansouri at the third level. DIMC hopes that this event will inspire more people to take up marine sports and participate in future competitions.
