Stand Up Paddling in front of Burj Khalifa on Friday

Under the new sports community initiative, the Dubai International Marine Club will organize this Friday, 28 August 2020,  a one of kind event, "We Paddle for Dubai" which is held for the first time on the the Burj Khalifa’s Water Lake. 

The organizing committee at DIMC announced the opening of registration through the club’s official website (www.dimc.ae) from today until Thursday. It is expected that the event will gain a huge number of participation due to the demand witnessed by the marine sports during this period but it will be divided into groups in accordance with the precautionary measure to limit the spread of the pandemic.

Mohammed Harib , the CEO of DIMC thanked His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, for his great support and continuous follow-up, stressing that the event comes under the directives of His Highness and in line with the plans of the Dubai Sports Council towards increasing community activities.

He praised all the efforts of the club’s board members headed by Ahmed Saeed bin Meshar. He also expresses his gratitude towards EMAAR for its vital role in agreeing to have the event in the Burj Khalifa water lake which will open new prospect of cooperation with the national institution to spread the marine sports among the individual in the society.

He added that the club are also doing this event in cooperation with Kite N Surf which specialize in watersports and marine activities that will provide technical support for the event by providing some of the paddle board.

The upcoming event is one of the community event organized by the club which is open to all the various sector of the society in achieving its goal in providing a safe environment in practicing the sports activities and to take advantage of promoting the Dubai’s tourist attraction which is the second event organized by the club after the successful Dubai Watersports Summer Week. He pointed out that the club will implement the protocol in accordance with safety and precautionary measure at all time.

The CEO of the club , invites everyone to join and participate in the upcoming event hosted at Burj Khalifa for the first time for a chance to paddle at the Burj Khalifa water lake with the view of the famous Dubai dancing fountain which is a popular tourist destination.
