Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) will bring together watersports enthusiasts in a festival this weekend at the picturesque Dubai Islands as part of the current sports season 2023-2024. 

DIMC is organizing two major events under the supervision of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation: the fourth round of the UAE Rowing Championship and the third round of the UAE Sailing Championship 2024, which will be held on May 4th and 5th, 2024 (Saturday and Sunday). 

Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Dubai International Marine Club, said that the Dubai Islands are once again witnessing a unique sporting event and a large gathering this weekend as they host the modern rowing and modern sailing races, which will be participated in by national players, club teams, and academies from various emirates in the country. 

He stressed that the organizing committee has completed the necessary requirements for the success of the race this weekend in coordination with the UAESARF, government departments, and various institutions, especially Nakheel for providing the venue in the new tourist destination, the Dubai Island, where most of the club’s events at DIMC are held.

Al Marri revealed that the upcoming event will not be just competitive races. The club is keen on achieving national partnership and aims to invite students from various Dubai schools to learn and experience this sport from our professionals. This initiative is part of the visits organized by the club to a number of universities and educational institutions in the Emirate of Dubai, educating and encouraging them to try watersports.

UAE Sailing Championship - Round 3 will be held over two days this weekend will include 9 different categories such as : Optimist Overall Class, Optimist Female, Optimist Junior , ILCA 4 Overall, ILCA 4 Girls , ILCA 6 Overall, ILCA 6 Females, ILCA 7 Class, ILCA 7 Master Class and ILCA 7 Grand Master Class.

UAE Rowing Championship - Round 4 will be held on Saturday with 12 categories to compete with such as : Women's Double Scull, Men's Single Scull, Junior Women's Double Scull, Junior Men's Single Scull, Women's Quadruple Scull, Junior Men's Double Scull, Junior Women's Single Scull, Men's Double Scull, Women's Single Scull, Mixed Double Scull, Men's Quadruple Scull, Mixed Quadruple plus he Overall Team winner of the round.
