Oman boat no. 44 owned by the Ministry of Sports Affair and led by the skipper Humaid Bin Salim Bin Humaid Al Bahri won the first place in the overall standing of the Dubai Traditional Rowing Race (30ft) organized by Dubai international Marine Club under the sports season 2018-2019
The Omani Team boat no. 44 deserved the overall lead in the overall ranking the last season wherein it shows that on the three rounds they were able to win it making them the first one to qualify for the Al Maktoum Cup for its 21st version which is remarkably as one of the mpst expensive race and brings the elite boat together in the season
The boat Oman won 44 first place in three consecutive rounds, the first round in the twelfth of October, the second and third rounds in the third and ninth of November gathering a total of three points which lead them to rank first in the overall.
The Dubai Police boat no. 1 was able to get the second place in the overall ranking which is led by Mohamed Ismail Mashmoum Al Falasi with a total of 15 points.
Taking up the third spot is the boat of Ras Al Khaima 50 led by Mohamed Ahmed Yakheek Al Shahi with a total of 18 points same with the boat no. 70 Muzahem but Ras Al Khaima was able to gather the points first in the second and third round putting up the rival boat at the fourth spot.
We saw a huge success for the overall championship of the Dubai Traditional Rowing Race 30ft distinguished by the "Year of Zayed" towards the "Year of Tolerance" in 2019 wherein for the first time in the GCC the Kingdom of Bahrain partcipated to revive such traditional sports.
It was also worth mentioning that the event was held inconjunction with the Dubai Fitness Challenge (Dubai 30 x 30) and held in a new place in the Al Jaddaf area near the Wild Life Sanctuary.
The races was able to gather around 50 participation all throughout the three rounds making it more exciting and success to the organizing committee.
