Organizational Success for First Round of Dubai Kitesurf Open

Dubai International Marine Club sets an organizational success by launching a new category "Wing Foil" in the first round of the Dubai Kitesurf Open last weekend, in cooperation with Emirates Kiteboarding Association (EKA) and UAE Sailing & Rowing Federation (UAESARF) held at Dubai Islands. 

The club has been organizing the Kitesurf Competition for the sixth season in a row within the current sports calendar which aims to develop & enhance marine sports in the country, the first competition of its kind was held way back in 2001 with the Freestyle Show Championship (King of the Air) since then the sports has become widely popular among Dubai beaches due to its suitable weather condition. 

The participants for the Wing Foil competed for the two categories for men and women with the race course set by the Technical Committee of the Emirates Kiteboarding Association in the stunning location at Dubai Islands.

Wing foil is one of the modern sports that require physical fitness and continuous training to be able to surf on water using the wing position, technique, and movement taking advantage of the strong wind.

The first race was organized by the DIMC with the brilliance of the French Competitor winning the first place for men is Pierre Louis Corson, the second place goes to Billet Arnaud, and the third place is Sebastian Leclercq.

For the women category the first place goes to Amanda Miriani, second place is Coline Vernhet and third place is Sylvie Prunaire.

 
Follow up

It is worth noting that the first round of Dubai Kitesurf Open received the attention and follow up of the competitors and attended by Lt. Col Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi - Head of Maritime Rescue Department at Dubai Police , Mohammed Saif Al Marri - Director of Sports Affair at DIMC, Mohammad Abdullah Obaidli - Secretary General of the UAE Rowing and Sailing Federation and Ali Al Shayba Al Nuaimi - Director of Waterways and Security Department at Nakheel Company , who also crowned the champion of the various category at Dubai Kitesurf Open.
