Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Al-Nasr Cultural and Sports Club, expressed his wishes for success to the organizing committee and participants of the Al Gaffal Long Distance Race, which will commence from Sir Bu Na'air Island to the shores of Dubai. The event is being held under the patronage and support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, which will take place from 26th-28th of May 2023.
Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum was briefed on the latest preparations for the anticipated event by the delegation of the organizing committee for the 32nd edition of the race. The delegation includes Saif Juma Al Suwaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Dubai International Marine Club and Organizing Committee, Rashid Thani Al Ail Al Muhairi, Ali Saeed bin Thalith both Board Member, and Mohammed Harib, CEO , and Mohammed Al Sadi.
During the visit of the organizing committee delegation for the 32nd Al Gaffal Race, Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum acknowledged the ongoing efforts of the Dubai International Marine Club, in cooperation with government departments and national institutions, to ensure the success of the race and the safety of the participants during their journey from Sir Bu Na'air Island, the starting point of the race, towards the finish line at the Dubai shore, passing through Moon Island, with a distance of over 50 nautical miles.
Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized, that the historic race reaching its 32nd edition reaffirms the depth of the message laid down by the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 1991, in order to preserve the heritage and legacy of the ancestors and remind future generations of their struggles during diving expeditions.
On the other hand, the organizing committee for the Al Gaffal Race has notified all the boat owners and captains through SMS regarding opening of registration via www.algaffal.ae in which they are requested to submit all the required documents and crew lists.
