Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Al Nasr Cultural Sports Club, received the delegation of the 33rd Al Gaffal Higher Organizing Committee, which will commence from Sir Bu Na'air Island to Dubai shore. The event is being held under the patronage and support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, and will take place from the 11th to the 19th of this month.

Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum reviewed the ongoing preparations of the organizing committee for the success of the traditional race dedicated to the 60ft dhow sailing category. This race began in 1991 with the insightful vision of its founder, the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, ensuring that the race message will be passed down to the next generation, celebrating the legacy of its forefather.

He appreciated the continued support and great interest from the race sponsor, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, which contributed to the continuation of this great event, which is eagerly anticipated by everyone in the United Arab Emirates.

Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the efforts made by the Higher Organizing Committee of the Dubai International Marine Club, the organizer of the race, and the club’s strategic partners, in completing the necessary requirements to guarantee the security and safety of all the participants on their journey to Sir Bu Nair Island and their safe arrival after the race, which will determine the success of the event.

He also directed the delegation of the Higher Organizing Committee of the event to work on facilitating the tasks of the participants, overcoming difficulties, and selecting the most suitable date for holding the event so that the 33rd edition continues to set remarkable records each season.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Al Nasr Cultural and Sports Club, expressed his wishes for success and prosperity to all the participants, including crews, boat owners, captains, and sailors. He stressed that everyone is already a winner by participating and attending this great tradition.

The souvenir was presented by Saif Juma Al Suwaidi, Vice Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, in the presence of committee members : Khalid bin Dasmal and Mohammed Abdullah Harib.
