Registration closes today for the first round of the 43ft Dhow Sailing Race, organized by the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC), taking place tomorrow, Saturday, 28th September, as part of the new 2024-2025 sports season.
The big race is the second event in the club’s season, which is expected to witness the participation of 70 boats competing in the first round. This race will challenge the skills of senior sailors in one of the most popular and oldest traditional dhow sailing categories.
Dubai International Marine Club has completed coordination with its success partners from government departments and national institutions, which always contribute to the success of the club's events. These include Dubai Police, Dubai Civil Defense, the National Guard - Fourth Squadron Command, and Dubai Media Incorporated.
It’s worth mentioning that last season, boat no. 63 Dahis won the first round, while the second round went to boat no. 217 Zilzal. The crew of boat no. 170 Sahm won the overall championship after earning 5 points to top the general ranking.
