Sahm (170) topped the 43ft Dhow Sailing Race

Sahm boat no. 170 owned by Abdulla Ibrahim Abdullah Al Hammadi and led by Ahmed Youssef Salem Al Hammadi crowned as champion of the first round for the Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race (43ft) which was successfully organized last Saturday by Dubai International Marine Club. 

The race was participated by more than 70 boats, all lined up on the waterfront of Dubai Beach near Deira Island that sails safely towards the finish line in the iconic Burj Al Arab Hotel with a distance of more than 14 nautical miles. 

The crew of the boat Sahm (170) continued its brilliance this season by taking off the first place in the last 43ft Dhow Sailing Race led by the sailor Ahmed Youssef Salem Al Hammadi who uses a good strategy to reach the finish line first.

In the last minutes of the race boat no. 170 Sahm took over the lead against boat no. 70 Nazaa owned by Sheik Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and led by Youssef Ahmed Mohamed Al Hamadi finishes second place while boat no. 87 Al Dafrah owned by Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and led by Mohammed Abdullah Juma Al Marzouqi, took on the third place.

The awarding ceremony took place in Jumeirah 5 after the race led by the presence of the DIMC Board Member Jamal Zaal accompanied by the acting Director of Sports Affair and Race Director Mohammed Al Marri who congratulate & crowned the top three winners of the 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race - Heat 1. 

DIMC would like to thank all the participants for their great cooperation in achieving the success of the race and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.  

The club also praised the outstanding support from all the Government Departments and National institutions especially the General Command of Dubai Police and Dubai Media Incorporated by broadcasting the race live thru the Dubai Sports Channel.

The young captain, Ahmed Youssef Salem Al Hammadi, and the crew of boat no. 170 Sahm express their happiness in winning the first round of the Dubai Traditional Sailing Race 43ft - Heat 1 which motivates them to achieve more in the upcoming rounds. He also praised the efforts of the organizing committee for the success of this great event and in choosing the right path for the race.
