Standup Paddling Race at Hatta Dam Lake Today

The Hatta Dam Lake will host today the StandUp Paddling Race  "We Paddle for Hatta" organized by the Dubai International Marine Club under the marine sports season 2020-2021, to be held for the first time in the picturesque place of Hatta at 2:00 in the afternoon.

The event is held today in conjunction with the launching of the Dubai Fitness Challenge and in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council and in coordination with the Hatta Adventure Company, Hatta Kayak, Emirates SUP and Surf Committee and as well as the government department and national institution in the city of Hatta in which it will anticipate the large number of participants today in an event that brings together the marine sports and standup paddling enthusiast. 

The organizing committee of the Dubai International Marine Club completed all the preparations for the success of the event today in which the race will kick off at 2:00 PM in the afternoon and prior to that the participants need to complete the registration procedure then followed by the race briefing to explain the race course and the sequence of the event for men , women and junior. 

The organizing committee of the event allocated a total prize money of 100 thousand dirhams to be distributed among the winners of the event wherein the men will have a 3km race distance, women category with 3km distance and the junior (boys & girls) with 1km race distance. The committee will also handover medals in coordination with the Dubai Sports Council for the top achiever in the race. 

Mohammed Hareb, the CEO of the club said that organizing the Standup Paddling race which will be held for the first time in Hatta,  comes inline with the historical role played by the Dubai International Marine Club which was established since 1988, which strives to promote to all the areas of Dubai and the Tourist attraction which comes with the beauty of the nature in the mountains and the calm water of the lake that will be seen in today's event. 

He pointed out that today's event coincides with the launching of the Dubai Fitness Challenge in its fourth session which is an annual fitness festival invites everyone to complete 30 minutes of activity every day, for 30 days. He said that the organizing committee will give its full effort to implement the precautionary measures issued by the national authorities. He wishes all the best for the participants in today's event.

The CEO of the Dubai International Marine Club revealed that the registration process witnessed a great turnout by fans of this sport, which has become a widespread sport in the country due to its ease and availability everywhere to practice and was seen during the event "We Paddle for Dubai" last June and August.
