Today Marks the Conclusion of the Dubai Fishing Competition

Today, the Dubai Fishing Competition for "Kingfish and Cobia" is concluding its second round, which was organized by the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) as part of the 2022-2023 sports events calendar. Participants can hand over catch fish from 10:00- 14:00 HRS today, prior to the winner announcement later in the afternoon at the DIMC office.

The second round of the competitions, which began on Thursday, saw a large number of fishing enthusiasts and amateurs, particularly in the cobia fish category. The top four contestants for the second day were Khaled Khalfan Khalaf Al-Rumaithi (21.6 KG, 116 CM), Faris Abdullah Muhammad Al Shamsi (18.9 KG, 116 CM), Ali Saeed Al Mazrouei (34.5 KG, 103 CM), and Macedonian Nikolchi Jovanoski (14.3 KG, 111 CM).

The winners of the second round competitions will receive a total of 165,000 dirhams in prize money, with 135,000 dirhams distributed among the top performers in the Kingfish Category and the other 30,000 dirhams will proceed to the top three in Cobia Category. 

The Dubai International Marine Club would like to thank Al-Watania and the Yazi Marine for their support and in kind prizes to the winners such as fishing rods and equipment. The Delma Marine for Industrial Equipment and Marine Services will also offer an additional prize of 25,000 dirhams for the Season's Overall Champion in Kingfish category, as announced by the company's general manager, Ayoub Al Khaja, during the last round held in March.
