Two Doses of vaccine are required for participation and attending sporting event

The Dubai's Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management has issued an updated precautionary measures for events and activities that will be applied in all sporting events held in Dubai during the coming period in various competitive and societal sports.

The updated precautionary measures which will be applied immediately to the entire sporting event will allow only participants, spectators, organizers and personal who completed their vaccination doses 14 days before taking part or organizing any event.

Ensuring all the participants are wearing mask at all times unless engaged or practicing a sports activity. In addition to that the 2 meters social distancing and continues sterilization in all the event facilities.  

It requires an organizers to designate a health and safety officers to monitor the event and implement properly the precautionary measure such as continuous sterilization of facilities /area, the use of smart payment and ensuring the effectiveness of the applying the precautionary measure at all times.

The updated precautionary measure highlighted that the fans and spectators will be able to attend sports events provided all attendees, participants and staff have received the COVID-19 vaccine. The attendance capacity for these permitted events should not exceed 70 percent. The maximum attendance allowed for such events that receive permits after the updated precautionary measures come into effect on 17th May, is 1,500 for indoor events and 2,500 for outdoor events.

Event organizers wishing to obtain a permit to organize a sporting event in Dubai can contact the Dubai Sports Council to update the organization with data and number of participants according to the new procedures.
