UAE Rowing Championship Round 4 in Dubai Island Tomorrow

Dubai Island will host the fourth round of the UAE Rowing Championship on the 4th of May 2024, organized by the Dubai International Marine Club as part of the 2023-2024 sports season under the supervision of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation (UAESARF).

The upcoming race will bring together elite champions from clubs, teams, and academies specialized in modern rowing, as well as the national team, who will compete in various categories including singles, doubles, and quadruples, during morning and evening events. Teams will also compete for the overall excellence cup, awarded to the club and team with the most medals.

Competitors will participate in 12 categories such as Women's Double Scull, Men's Single Scull, Junior Women's Double Scull, Junior Men's Single Scull, Women's Quadruple Scull, Junior Men's Double Scull, Junior Women's Single Scull, Men's Double Scull, Women's Single Scull, Mixed Double Scull, Men's Quadruple Scull, Mixed Quadruple, and the Overall Team winner of the round.

Additionally, the third round of the UAE Sailing Championship will also be held from tomorrow until Sunday, featuring 9 different categories including Optimist Overall Class, Optimist Female, Optimist Junior, ILCA 4 Overall, ILCA 4 Girls, ILCA 6 Overall, ILCA 6 Females, ILCA 7 Class, ILCA 7 Master Class, and ILCA 7 Grand Master Class.

Mohammed Al Marri, the Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Dubai International Marine Club, stated that modern rowing and sailing races hold special significance in the club’s calendar due to their positive impact, serving as platforms for discovering future Olympic sports champions. Therefore, the club is keen on hosting more of these events. 

Al Marri emphasized that the completion of preparations for the success of the event was achieved through coordination with the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation (UAESARF), the governing body of this sport. Success partners from government departments and national institutions, especially Nakheel, played a crucial role by providing the picturesque venue on Dubai Island, where most of the club’s events for this season are held.
