Zilzal 25, owned by Al Fattan Marine Services Company and captained by Abdulla Marwan Abdulla Al Marzouqi, was crowned champion of the second and final round of the Dubai Traditional Dhow Race 22ft in the Youth Category.
Meanwhile, Sarab 67, owned by Mohammed Sultan Al Marzouqi and captained by his son Sultan, secured first place in the Junior Category.
The race, organized by the Dubai International Marine Club on Friday as the closing ceremony for the club's activities in 2024, was a resounding success. It saw the participation of 45 boats with more than 200 sailors on board, all competing fiercely for top place in the youth and junior categories.
The dhow sailed from Jumeirah Beach near the World Islands to the finish line near the Umm Suqeim shore, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The competition was intense, with participants showcasing skills and expertise that ensured their safe arrival at the finish line.
