The Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) is organizing the Dubai Aquatic Sports Festival , featuring a consecutive series of four major events taking place this week on the beaches of Jebel Ali and Jumeirah. The festival brings together a vibrant mix of competitive and recreational marine sports, with wide participation from various nationalities, including UAE nationals, residents, and international visitors who traveled specifically to take part in the competitions.
The event kicked off on Wednesday, 21 January, and is currently continuing with the second round of the Dubai Kitesurf Competition, being held at Jebel Ali Beach and running until Sunday.
Meanwhile, Friday and Saturday, 23-24 January, will witness the Dubai Aquabike Championship, which will feature elite riders competing at Jebel Ali Beach. The championship offers a total prize pool of AED 351,000, attracting some of the strongest competitors in the sport.
The event will conclude on Sunday at Jumeirah Beach with the Dubai Kayak Fishing Competition, alongside the second round of the Dubai Stand-Up Paddling and Kayak Race, adding an exciting finale to the week-long sporting celebration.
Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Dubai International Marine Club, expressed his pride in Dubai’s status as a global hub for marine activities during the winter season. He noted that the favorable weather conditions and strong international interest encourage the club to organize such diverse events consecutively, especially with the high turnout from participants inside and outside the UAE.
Al Marri also highlighted the great success of the Dubai Marine Sports Day, held last week, which showcased promising talents and competitive levels. He expressed anticipation for seeing those talents return in the kite surfing and kayaking competitions, as well as the highly awaited Dubai Jet Ski Championship, which brings together some of the world’s best and strongest riders for thrilling races along Dubai’s shores.
He further confirmed that registration remains open for all competitions, with online registration continuing to ensure and transparency in completing procedures. All participation requirements are being carefully reviewed to maintain fairness among competitors, while organizing teams have completed all logistical preparations at both competition venues in cooperation with strategic partners and relevant authorities.
These events are organized as part of the Dubai International Marine Club’s Strategic Plan 2025–2027, which aims to strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading global destination for marine sports. The plan also supports the ongoing development of sports and community activities, talent identification and nurturing, and the expansion of marine sports through the introduction and promotion of new competitions.
