The highly anticipated UAE Fishing Championship 2025 (Kingfish & Cobia) kicks off today – Wednesday – organized by the Dubai International Marine Club as part of the 2024-2025 marine sports season. The event coincides with the 31st edition of the Dubai International Boat Show.

Now in its sixth consecutive season, the championship reflects the club’s commitment to promoting marine sports and engaging diverse segments of the community. This initiative aligns with the declaration of 2025 as the "Year of the Community," further enhancing the event’s appeal among fishing enthusiasts and hobbyists.

Participants will compete for a total prize pool of AED 175,000 in addition to valuable in-kind rewards provided by event sponsors, including Sayaf Marine, Al Yazi Marine, Da Hunter, Advance Media, Bob Marlin, and Elite Fishing, which will be publishing live results through its official fishing app.

The organizing committee at the Dubai International Marine Club has completed all technical and logistical preparations, following a successful registration process that saw over 100 male and female participants. Official event stickers were distributed at the club’s headquarters ahead of the competition.

The championship, running until Sunday, promises intense competition, beginning today – Wednesday – after the official announcement of the event’s "secret code / password," signalling the start of five days of non-stop fishing action. The final ceremony will take place at the Dubai International Boat Show exhibition area on Sunday at 4:00 PM. Daily fish submissions will be received at the Dubai International Marine Club (Dubai Harbour).
