"Dubai International Marine Club in preparation for the start of the new marine sports season 2019 - 2020 on Saturday, seventh of September "
The marine sports races was organized by Dubai International Marine Club which was founded in 1988 to establish the Dubai local races for sailing and to bring back together the marine heritage and sports enthusiast which is happening in the waterfront of Dubai.
The organizing committee had announced their readiness for the upcoming season 2019-2020 and ensuring everyone with various activities in racing boats and traditional sailing for the following category : 60ft , 43ft and 22ft , traditional rowing boats 30 ft, speed boats, Aquabike, modern rowing, stand up paddling , modern sailing , kite surfing and fishing competitions.
Hezaim Al Gemzi, the Director of Sports Department at the Dubai International Marine Club said "that the employee of the club will welcomed the start of the new season with full of positive spirit and tolerance to prevail honest competition values and he praised the great cooperation between the club and racers for the success of all the activities and events".
He also said that the Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Club is working hard in order to provide opportunities to compete in accordance with the highest standards of security and safety through the environment that will suit the nature of the competition , pointing out that the calendar of marine sports races in Dubai carry a lot of diversity which will run from September until May.
He explained that the timetable adopted by the Board of Directors which have taken many things into consideration in putting up the right timeline for the competition and the event timing with the nature of the weather in which they carefully studied.
He noted that the club is keen on activating partnership with the various government and national institution to ensure the success and safety of all the activities that the club organized annually.
This September will officially mark the 2019-2020 season with the first round of 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race on 7th of September and followed by the second round of the 21st of September and to finish the month with the first round of the 22ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race which is divided into two categories for the sailor’s ages 8-16 years old as the junior and the youth for ages 8-21 years old .

Dubai International Marine Club had announced yesterday that the registration for the upcoming first round of the 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing race is now open and it will mark the opening of the new marine sports season on Saturday (07 September 2019)
The organizing committee of the club would like to thanks all the boat owners and skipper who interacted with the questionnaire recently launched by the club to see the satisfaction of the participants for beginning the season on Saturday and they found out that they already look forward to welcomed the new season which is earlier this time.
Hezaim Al Gemzi, the Director of Sports Department at the Dubai International Marine Club acknowledge the fast response and cooperation of the boat owner and wishing all the organizers and participants a success of the new season 2019-2020.
He reminded those who would like to participate to register before the set deadline on Thursday at the club headquarter or via the link that was sent to them thru SMS. Wherein the organizing committee will release the entry list for the participants prior to the race day on Saturday.
He explained that the committee is working in the coming days to complete the organizational aspect in coordination with the government department and national institution such as the Dubai Police, Civil Defense, Dubai Maritime City Authority, Dubai Media Incorporated, Abu Dhabi Media and Nakheel – Palm.
It is worth mentioning that in the opening month there is three races coming up which is the first round of the 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race on Saturday (07 September) followed by the second round of 21st of September and the first round of the 22ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race on 27th of September.
DIMC is ready for the first race of the new season 2019-2020 which is on Saturday the first round of the 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race.
In the beginning of this week we saw the owners and racer complete their registration in the club headquarter for the first race wherein the committee also provided an electronic link to register and garnering a total of 70 participants wherein they expect to exceed the number before the deadline today at 2:00 PM.
The organizing committee of the club and make great efforts to prepare for the start of a new season successful in cooperation with the various government departments and national institutions, including the Dubai Police - the device to protect vital installations and coasts (Coast Guard) , Civil Defense in Dubai , Dubai Maritime City Authority and Dubai Media Incorporated , which it televise the race live via Dubai Sports TV Channel , Nakheel, Dubai Ambulance and Sky Dive Dubai.
Mohammed Harib , the CEO and board member of Dubai International Marine Club wishes all the employee the success of the new season and appreciate all their efforts in the previous season in which the club achieved a huge success.
The board of Director of DIMC confirmed that the current season will be filled with local events , international and global that will contribute to its role in being the home of watersports in the country since its founding year 1988.
He explained that the season will officially start on Saturday under the "Year of Tolerance" and will continue until the 2020 in which Dubai is set to host the EXPO 2020 which will give a lot of opportunity and aspiration in-conjunction with the event . The closing race will be dedicated for the 30th Al Gaffal Race which is held annually under the patronage and direct support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum , deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance.

All eyes in Dubai beaches today as they host the 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race which is organized by Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) as opening for the new sports season 2019-2020.
The organizing committee completed all the arrangement needed for the start of the first race today at 3:00 PM in the afternoon in coordination with the various government department and national institution which always contribute to the success of the events organized by the club.
It is expected to witness in the race today the participation of up to 75 boats carrying more than 1,200 sailors that will sail in the Arabian Gulf water towards the Dubai Shores in which the finish line is located around the shore of Jumeirah with a distance of 10 nautical miles.

He explained that today’s race will start in 3:00 PM in the Arabian Gulf Water with the distance of 10 nautical miles towards the finish line wherein the participant are gathered 5 nautical miles from Atlantis in order to facilitate carefully the participants.
He also reminds all the owners and sailors to please be in time and see the race instruction sent to all the participants via link in the SMS and reminded everyone to pass thru the buoy in the starting line towards the finishing line.
The organizing committee closely monitor all the details of the Status of the SEA and the WIND speed reported by the NCM (National Center of Meteorology and Seismology) in order to give the best conditions and coordinates suitable for the race which have been sent thru SMS.

DMI (Dubai Media Incorporation) continue to gain a great interest in the publication and promotion of marine racing through channel where the organizing committee was keen to thank the Director General of channels of Dubai Sports, Abdul Rahman Amin , in his cooperation and interest as well as employees in the organization 's for their full effort lead by Abdul Khaliq Al Khamis , Director of Operations, Mohammed Saeed Al Ketbi who communicate and coordinate for the development of the show and to artistically show it in one beautiful picture.
Previously in the last season the boat 127 “Al Wasf” took the lead in the Overall Standing for thw 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing race and today we will witness who among them will took off the first win of the new season consecutively as the second round is set also this month after two weeks.
Shaheen boat no. 39 which is owned by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Rumaithi and skippered by Khalifa Abid Thani Al Marri won the first round of the 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race which is organized by Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) under the opening of the new season 2019-2020.
In the first raced held last Saturday, we saw a participation of 79 boats carrying 1200 sailors which sails in the Arabian Guld towards the finish line near the iconic Burj Al Arab with a race distance of around 10 nautical miles.
The good condition of the wind speeds reaching 13 knots has helped a lot the sailors to sail towards the finish line. There are some boats that was not able to participate due to the capsize in the wrong start then after they lined up again to successfully start. All went smooth as the first boat Shaheen arrived in the finish line at around 41 minutes.
The successful boat was captained by Khalifa Abid Thani Al Marri which lead the boat Shaheen to take over their first win of the season which followed by the boat Zilzal no. “217” owned by His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan skippered by Mohammed Abdulla Mohammed Al Marzouqi. Taking over the third spot is the boat Barq nojabu. “230” owned by Mohammed Jabir Al Hammadi and led by Jabir Mohammed Jabir Al Hammadi , who had dominated the early stage of the race but got sweep away by the boat no. 39 in the towards the finish line.
Right after the race is the awarding ceremony for the top three winners which is held on shore in front of Burj Al Arab lead by the DIMC CEO and Board Member , Mohammed Harib and the Director of the Director of Sports Department at DIMC, Hezaim Al Gemzi to hand over the trophy to the winners.
