The organizing committee at Dubai International Marine Club had announced that the registration is now open to participate in the second of the 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race which is organize by the club on Saturday (21 September ) within the new season 2019-2020.
In line with the upcoming race the participants will need to complete the registration process at the club headquarter or thru link that was sent via SMS until Thursday and later to be announced the entry list.
The round two of the 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race will kick off on Saturday from Arabian Gulf water towards the finish line along Jumeirah Shore in which depends on the wind speed and direction.
The organizing committee began arranging the needed preparation and equipment for the success of the upcoming event in coordination with the various government departments and national institutions, including the Dubai Police, Coast Guard, Civil Defense , Dubai Media Incorporated (Dubai Sports Channels) , Dubai Maritime City Authority and Nakheel.
It is worth mentioning that the Dubai International Marine Club had organized a large and successful inaugural event for the sports season 2019-2020 with the first round of 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race participated by 79 boats that sails within a distance of 10 nautical miles. And crowned as the champion of the first round is boat no. 39 "Shaheen" owned by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Rumaithi and skippered by Khalifa Abid Thani Al Marri followed by boat no. 217 "Zilzal" and boat no. 230 "Barq".

The registration for the second round of the 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing race ends today which is organized by the Dubai International Marine Club on Saturday under the new marine sports season 2019-2020.
The organizing committee at DIMC started to receive the registration of participation since last Sunday which will end until today at the Club headquarter on or before 14:00 HRS or thru the electronic link sent thru SMS.
It is expected to witness around 80 boats participants that will sail thru Arabian Gulf Water towards the finish line which is set off near the iconic Burj Al Arab with a distance of 10 nautical miles wherein the sailors are expected to give full effort to win the said race.
The Organizing Committee coordinates with the various government department and national institution to assure the success of the events which include the Dubai Police, Coast Guard, Civil Defense, Dubai Media Incorporated via Dubai Sports TV Channel, Abu Dhabi Media thru YAS TV Channel, Dubai Maritime City Authority and Nakheel.
Hezaim Al Gemzi the Director of Sports Department at DIMC closely monitor the weather forecast thru the reports received by the National Center for Meteorology, according to the latest updates the forecast shows that the weather is suitable for the race on Saturday. He also indicates that on Saturday to the wind direction will be southeast-northeast.
As per the event time table today will be the last day of registration and later on the committee will send the list of participants before the race day which is on Saturday where the boat is expected to be on the milling area before 12:30 HRS prior race starts at 13:30 HRS.
Dubai beaches will witness today the second round of the 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race which is organized by Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) under the marine sports season 2019-2020.
84 boats will sail from the Arabian Gulf Water towards the finish line in the shore of Jumeirah near the iconic Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab with a race distance of 10 nautical miles wherein the boats will line up first in the starting line waiting for the green flag to set off.
Hezaim Al Gemzi, the Director of Racing Department at Dubai International Marine Club, said that the organizing committee has completed all the equipment and procedures in coordination with the various government department and national institution to assure the success of the events which include the Dubai Police, Coast Guard, Civil Defense, Dubai Media Incorporated via Dubai Sports TV Channel, Abu Dhabi Media thru YAS TV Channel, Dubai Maritime City Authority and Nakheel.
He said that as per the race time table the race will set off today , where in the participants is expected to be there before 12:30 HRS in the milling area before the race starts at 13:30 HRS.
He reminded all the owners and sailors to abide the race instruction and the directives issued by the club which include procedures before and after the race including the proper line up to the starting line and adhering to the technical examination procedures for the first winner immediately after the end of the race.
Hezaim said that the organizing committee has been monitoring all the reports on the state of the sea through the reports of the National Meteorological Center (NCM), making sure that the weather is suitble and will bring partcipant a success. He also noted that this round exceed the number of participants to 80 boats.
Dubai Sports Channel will broadcast live the race at 1:30 pm on Saturday, in line with the Dubai Media Establishment's interest in all activities and events organized by the Dubai International Marine Club.
His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan's boats dominated the top three spots in the 43ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race organized by the Dubai International Marine Club as part of the new sports season 2019-2020.
The three siblings Marwan, Hassan, Ali Abdullah Mohammed Juma Al Marzouqi succeeded in making their boats Zilzal “217”, Hasheem “153” and Namran “259” in the top three place respectively.
The grand race took place last Saturday, 21 September 2019 wherein we witnessed a participation of more than 80 boats which lined up in the Arabian Gulf Water waiting for the green line to set off which marks the start of the race wherein they will sail towards the finish line in front of the iconic Burj Al Arab with a race distance of 11 nautical miles with a wonderful scenery and good wind speed that enable the sailors to move towards the finish line in the suitable time.
The winner of the race 217 “Zilzal’ was owned by HH Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, skippered by Marwan Abdullah Mohammed Al Marzouqi that led them to the finish line against the rival boat.
Going straight for the second prize is the boat 153 “ Hashim” which is also owned by His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and led by the skipper Hassan Abdullah Al Marzouqi, the brother of Marwan.
Another Al Marzouqi completed the top 3 with the boat 259 “Namran” owned by Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and led by Ali Abdullah Al Marzouqi, another brother of Marwan and Hassan which took the first and second place in the race. A exceptional phenomenon was the fact that three boats owned by His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan took the first three places, while Marwan, Hassan and Ali managed to lead these boats to the podium.
Right after the successful race is the awarding for the top three winners led by the presence of DIMC Board Member and CEO, Mohammed Harib and the Director of the Sports Department, Hezaim Al Gemzi with Marah Falaknaz, the Secretary General of the UAEMSF (UAE Marine Sports Federation)
