DIMC announce that the registration started for the second round of the 60ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race which will be held on Saturday , 07th of March 2020 in Jumeirah Shore under the marine sports season 2019-2020.
The upcoming race is the practice for the owners and sailors to test the readiness of the dhow boats in advance preparation for the closing race of the season , the 30th Al Gaffal Race which is held under the patronage and support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum , the Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance wherein he approved the date of the race to be on Saturday, 30th of May 2020.
Dubai beaches will witness today (1:30 PM) the 60ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race organized by Dubai International Marine Club under the marine sports season 2019-2020.
The organizing committee at Dubai International Marine Club have completed all the needed preparations for the start of the competitions today in coordination with government departments and national institutions that always stand behind the success of the event organized by the club, including the Dubai Police , Dubai Civil Defense, Coast Guard and Dubai Maritime City Authority.
Today we will witness the 90 boats participant with more than 2000 sailors that will embodies their parents and grandparents heritage of the past as they come back from the journey of pearl diving between the most beautiful sea destinations, wherein the race will start at the depth of Arabian Gulf towards the finish line at Jumeirah shores near the iconic Burj Al Arab with the race distance of 20 nautical miles.
