Dubai International Marine Club has announced the opening of registration for the second round of the Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race (60ft) which will be held on Saturday.
The organizing committee began an early preparation to ensure the success of the race in coordination with various government departments and national institutions. It is expected to receive a huge number of participation on Saturday, as this race serves as the practice prior to the final race of the season from Sir Bu Na’air Islands, which is scheduled for the month of May.
Dubai beaches will witness today the second round of Dhow Sailing Race (60ft) which is organized by Dubai International Marine Club under the current season 2022-2023.
Today’s race is an important milestone for each participants as it represent the practice prior to the big & final race on May, the 32nd edition of the Algaffal 60ft Traditional Dhow Sailing Race from Sir Bu Na’air to Dubai shore.
Shaheen boat no. 57 owned by Hamdan Saeed Yaber Al Harbi and led by Khalifa Abed Thani Al Marri was crowned the champion of the second round of Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race (60ft) which was organized by Dubai International Marine Club last Saturday as part of the current season.
The event was participated by 80 boats which all lined up at the starting line in the depth of the Arabian Gulf and sailed for more than 22 nautical miles in an unpredictable race due to the shift of wind speed that affects the sailor’s strategy in leading the way to the finish line.
